Interdisciplinary exchange and integration of knowledge on asparagine and acrylamide
Objective
In addition to fulfilling its role, powers and duties as described in the COST rules, the MC will pursue the Objective To exchange knowledge and encourage joint R&D planning between all scientific disciplines involved in reducing acrylamide levels in cereal-based food.
Tasks
- To organise a workshop to bring together and integrate the results of WG2-5, every year.
- To organise a conference at the end of year 2 to discuss the overview of relevant research, gaps analysis and draft research agenda and year 4 to present the research agenda and inform all stakeholders of the results of ACRYRED. This includes interaction with policy makers and regulators on progress towards further acrylamide reduction potential based on results from WG2-5.
- To set up and deliver the interdisciplinary ACRYRED training school.
- To organise six calls for support of a maximum of 40 Short Term Scientific Missions, strategically connecting disciplines and sectors, and ITC Conference Grants. To request to WG2-5 to identify candidates for STSM and ITC Conference Grants and stimulate them to apply for support.
