The second interlaboratory ring test organized within COST Action CA21149 ACRYRED focused on the determination of acrylamide in low-acrylamide cereal products.
A total of 18 laboratories received the test materials, and 13 laboratories from 10 European countries submitted results for evaluation. The study included two cereal-based matrices representative of products with low acrylamide content.
The results demonstrated good overall laboratory performance despite the analytical challenges associated with low acrylamide concentrations. Most participating laboratories achieved satisfactory results, while accredited laboratories showed particularly good agreement.
Compared with the first ACRYRED ring test, participation increased substantially and the exercise addressed considerably lower acrylamide concentrations. The findings confirm the growing harmonisation of analytical methodologies across the ACRYRED network and highlight the importance of continued interlaboratory comparisons for quality assurance and support of future regulatory discussions.
We thank all participating laboratories for their valuable contribution and continued support of ACRYRED activities.
